Continuation Patterns
There are 2 basic continuation patterns, Triangle and Pennants. All other formations are variations of these two. Continuation patterns are pauses in price movement. After the pause, price continues in the direction of the trend.
Look for volume to be dropping as continuation patterns form. At the breakout point where the continuation of the trend occurs look for a noticeable increase in volume. Volume is more important on upside continuation patterns than downside. Volume must remain strong for price to continue rising.
